Social Skills are a crucial part of your life that you must always attempt to improve. I want give you simple ways to improve your social skills using everyday scenarios.

Why Are Social Skills So Important?
Unlike the skills of software development, math, or aerospace engineer, social skills is a universal skill everyone will have to use at some point. Many of you will spend over half of your life with co workers, where having social skills in the office environment is key to your success.
You may have seen the person in the office that is making everyone laugh and how they always get invited out for happy hour.
That should be you.
How Do I Develop Social Skills?
Developing social skills, just like developing any other skill, takes deliberate practice.
Social skills is not one thing, but it’s a group of little things you do to be pursuasive and ultimately get people to like you.
- Are you bad with eye contact? Your goal is than to keep eye contact for a full conversation with 2 co workers.
- You don’t know how to start a converstion? Your goal is to ask how the barista’s day is going.
- You can’t even talk to people? Your goal is to say goodmorning to your co workers.
Every time you complete one of these small goals, you start to build your social skill experience level. You will then wonder why you were afraid in the first place.
Do I Really Need Social Skills?
YES, you must develop your social skills as more and more jobs become automated.
Anyone can be a good developer but not everyone can be a good developer and have social skills.
How many people do you enjoy talking too? The answer is not that many I bet, hell I don’t see many people who can make eye contact and crack a smile.
More of the world is going online and don’t even step outside to touch grass. Image the opportunity that is there.
