Enjoying nightlife is not only about popping bottles at some overbooked club in Vegas. It’s fun a few times, but the obvious reason men do this is to attract someone of the opposite sex.
Nightlife is More Than Just Getting a Table
In the hopes of finding an easy lay, they waste a few thousand dollars (not including the generous tip) and tell a couple of stories about how great it was. It is cool the first few times just dropping a few thousand dollars but if you think about it “Why am I doing this?”.
If you dig a little deep inside yourself, you’ll realize that it is all just to impress a bunch of strangers. With social media, it is even worse because you’re posting some stories for people who don’t care about you (worse a girl you’ve never actually talked to that
A whole generation grew up watching The Jersey Shore believing that that is all there is to nightlife. For the majority that really is it or worse you’re just hanging with your “Crew”.
How to Make the Most of Your Night Out
First of all the night out doesn’t start when it’s night out. Just as every other job, there is a day crew and night crew.
During my bartending days, I always worked nights (weekend nights to be exact) because that’s where the money was (girls too). Bouncers would show up for their shift at that time too but obviously not the people. You are thinking, “What is the point about shifts?”.
Knowing when to show up for the night crew gives you the opportunity to make an impression (be generous) when the night is warming up.
After making an impression with the bartender and the bouncer (especially this guy) say you’ll be back when it’s busy if they can save your spot (avoid the line). This sets up you up for success for the rest of the night.
I used this move at a few locations during my trip to Portland because there were a few prime looking locations during daytime research.
I had options throughout the night so I never felt pressured to make something happen at just one location. If I didn’t hit it off with anyone I knew I could just switch it up and go to another spot I had already made an impression at earlier in the day.
Most Important Rule for Enjoying a Night Out in the Nightlife Scene
During a night out if you’re not making an epic story to tell, network connection, or filling your pipeline (ifykyk) then it’s just a waste of a night out.
Especially, if you’re a young man in your twenties, you have to chat up anyone and everyone to build those social skills.
I’ve previously mentioned how easy it is to turn a boring night into a memorable one because you just started chatting someone up who ends up having an extra ticket to some event.
Reminder it’s easier to be invited to things when you’re alone, compared to you being in a group of 6 guys.
