I recently watched the Napoleon movie on Apple TV, based on one of the greatest generals in history. Due to the chaos of the French Revolution, many people of great power were overthrown. This left a giant void for others to take those emptied positions.
The Napoleon Bonaparte movie was an okay piece of film. I felt it did not focus enough on his conquests and great battles.
It’s a shame that depending on when the movie is made on a great hero, there will be a specific point to be made about the leader. Unfortunately, when movies like this perform poorly, others will not want to make their version.
These are the themes I would focus on if, given the chance to remake this movie.
Napoleon’s Leadership and Ambition
“A leader is a dealer of hope.” – Napoleon Bonaparte
Take a second and picture this scenario. You are about to face your enemies and the person you’re supposed to follow into battle is about to give his speech
Leader 1: Your leader, sheepishly stares into the eyes of his men, “the enemy is there, ready to attack us. This is going to be hard but must figure out how to win.”
Leader 2: Your leader, with his chest high and saber in the air, voraciously speaking to his men, “The enemy is standing in fear right on the other side! That’s because they know with absolute certainty that their end is near. We will show mercy by taking our victory swiftly!”
Now tell me, who you would follow into battle.
Napoleon On Power and Politics:

You’ll have to acquire and retain power in life if you want to make it anywhere. Gaining power through an improved understanding of people.
Napoleon gave us this one phase used by all the spy intelligence agencies around the world when gathering intel. Use what they are weakest against themselves to gain your power.
